Born in the Stockholm winter, raised in Costa Rica to warmer rhythms and flavours, she found herself doing her BFA in Mime Acting at Stockholm University of the Arts, where she realised that visual storytelling was her thing. She decided she wanted to capture moments forever outside of a stage, which led her to an MFA in Screenwriting and Directing at Columbia University. She made a bunch of award winning shorts. The first time she was on a feature film set was on her own first feature, Clara Sola—her real school in filmmaking. Clara Sola premiered in Cannes in 2021 (read reviews to see how it went) and went on to win 5 Guldbaggar.
Since then she’s directed TV for STARZ/Showtime in the form of an episode of Three Women, and she’s in post-production on another film starring Alexander Skarsgård. She’s also developing other stuff and is itching to do shorter, very intense projects.
She’s best at bringing strong performances that move people in their sofas and making even the walk of a beetle memorable. She knows how to bend cinematic tools to express what words cannot. She loves creating worlds and finding different tones and sensibilities, always with narrative and clarity as guiding stars.
She believes two brains are better than one and is always happy to work collaboratively.
